Since our successful Volunteer Usher pilot project in autumn 2023, we’ve been delighted to welcome a wide range of members of the community age c.18-80 to support the wonderful Palace staff in making every Palace screening even more marvellous than it is already.
We ask new Volunteer Ushers to give approx. 3 hours per week twice per month, April-Sept 2025. They will usher at an afternoon and/or evening screening, supporting cinema staff to help make sure everything runs smoothly in the auditorium from when doors open until the last audience member has left.
Ushers stand before and after film and sit in a designated usher seat during film, answer audience enquiries or direct enquiries to cinema staff and report any issues to cinema staff. They open the cinema’s rear doors for audience members requiring step-free access and guide latecomers to their seats with a torch. They wear a lanyard for identification and have free teas and coffees.
Please click here for the Palace Volunteer Usher Application Form which includes further details on the role and responsibilities. Paper copies are available at the cinema.
